The countdown to ridiculously awesome Amazon Prime Day 2020 Deals has begun!

Let’s take a look at the new and revamped Amazon products that were announced in their Amazon Smart Home Devices 2020 Event…

Amazon is preparing for their annual Amazon Prime Day that kicks off on October 13, 2020 with a slew of new product launches at their Fall Hardware Product Launch Event. CNET first reported the start date and Amazon has confirmed it as Oct. 13 & 14, 2020.

Amazon unveiled new products that’re sure to be hot during Amazon Prime Day, followed by Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and then Christmas. Prime Day is becoming a bigger and bigger deals day on a wide variety of products, so be on the lookout if you’re looking for smart home devices, Roomba robot vacuums, smart locks, smart thermostats, and even 3D printers.

As for Amazon, they showed great innovation this year with their new products. Amazon announced the Ring Home Security Drone with Always Home Cam built-in, the Luna cloud gaming service with Twitch integration, a WiFi mesh router, an in-car security system that’s launching first with Tesla, revamped Amazon smart devices, and more.

Let’s take a look at highlights of the new and revamped Alexa-enabled products from Amazon. One tip, even though some of these will have discounts already, you can also wait until Amazon Prime Day to take advantage of potentially more discounts, instead of pre-ordering now.

If you don’t have Prime yet, be sure to sign-up for a 30-day FREE Trial of the Amazon Prime membership or you won’t be able to enjoy the crazy deals.

JUNE 2023 UPDATE: Amazon has announced the discontinuation of the Amazon Halo effective July 31, 2023. The decision was made to wind down the product, and the company is fully refunding customer purchases made in the preceding 12 months.

Future Amazon and Ring Security Products

Amazon’s home security brand, Ring, announced a number of innovative home and car security devices that will be released in 2021.

Ring Always Home Cam Drone

Getting tired of buying a new video camera for every room or because there’s a blind spot in your home?

Ring’s drone camera will help you with that. The Ring Always Home Cam is small and lightweight, allowing it to easily fly around your house.

You’ll be able to pre-select locations in your home that you’ll want your flying security camera to check. Pair it with Ring Alarm and it’ll automatically fly over to an alarm that’s been tripped.

For other safety and privacy concerns, it’ll make a humming sound when it’s flying, so you’ll be able to hear it and not walk into it. The drone’s video recorder will only record when in flight too.

Next-Level Autonomously Flying Indoor Security Camera | Ring Always Home Cam

Ring also announced three car security products that will come out next year in 2021 – Ring Car Connect, Ring Car Cam, and Ring Car Alarm.

Ring Car Connect

Tesla will be the first car manufacturer to be compatible with Ring Car Connect with Tesla models 3, X, S, and Y. From the Ring app, you’ll be able to watch Tesla Sentry Mode and the driving footage that was recorded. The Ring Car Connect is an API, so it’ll be available for all car manufacturers.

Ring Car Cam

As you have security cameras to record what’s going on at home, the Ring Car Cam will record events going on around your car and save it to the cloud. A good feature is the Traffic Stop feature. You say “Alexa, I’m being pulled over,” and the Car Cam will start recording everything to the cloud, so it’s always available and can’t be deleted off the camera.

Ring Car Alarm

The Ring Car Alarm is a compact, low-cost device that plugs into the OBD-II port that’s available in 99% of U.S. cars. The Car Alarm will send a real-time notification to the Ring App on your phone when there’s a break-in, tow-away, bump, or other events. You can even have the alarm trigger other Ring devices to send audible Alexa alerts.

Ring Mailbox Sensor

Waiting for an important piece of mail? Or is your mail constantly disappearing? The Ring Mailbox Sensor will send notifications to your Ring app or Alexa devices when you have new mail or whenever the mailbox is opened.
