Common Braeburn Thermostat Questions and Troubleshooting

Let’s first cover some of the most common questions we get asked about Braeburn thermostats controls. These will be generalized instructions, but they won’t be that different for specific thermostat models.

How to Find Braeburn Thermostat Model Number

You will need to know the model number of your thermostat in order to find the user manual you need and the specific instructions to solve thermostat problems.

You can usually find the model number by looking at the back or bottom of your thermostat. The model number is located on the back of the thermostat. It should look like this: “Model No.” or “Model “.

How to Program a Braeburn Thermostat

Once you have found the correct model number, programming the Braeburn thermostat is usually the first thing owners do with their new thermostat. You’ll want to use the manual to program your specific thermostat model.

Here are the general steps to program the thermostat:

  1. Press the Prog button
  2. Select Cool or Heat. Depending on your model, either press the System button to alternated between the two, or move the physical switch to Cool or Heat.
  3. Use the Up and Down arrow buttons to adjust the temperature and times.
  4. Select Return to finish programming.

How to Set a Braeburn Thermostat

Follow these general steps to set the Braeburn thermostat:

  1. Press the Date/Time button.
  2. Using the arrow buttons, set the date and time. Hours first, then minutes, and finally the day. Confirm each one by pressing the Date/Time button.
  3. Press the Fan button for fan setting. ‘Auto’ will turn on the fan only when the HVAC is running. ‘On’ will set the fan to run consistently. ‘Circ’ will turn the fan on and off every 24 minutes. ‘Prog’ will turn the fan on only when you program it to run.
  4. Press and Hold Return for 4 seconds. Settings will appear and you can change them with the arrow buttons.

How to Reset a Braeburn Thermostat

Sometimes you want to start fresh with your Braeburn thermostat settings, like if you were to move to a new house. Resetting is a factory reset and will return it back to the default factory settings.

Resetting a Braeburn thermostat is easy.

  1. Get a toothpick, needle, or safety pin.
  2. On the front of the Braeburn thermostat is a small, pin-shaped hole containing the Reset button.
  3. Insert the toothpick into the hole to press the Reset button.
  4. The thermostat should now be reset.

How to Replace a Braeburn Thermostat Battery

For Braeburn thermostats with a battery, you will need to change the battery once in a while. This is because batteries lose their charge over time. If you don’t replace the battery, the thermostat will eventually stop working.

To replace the battery, follow these steps:

  1. Take the thermostat off the base plate on the wall.
  2. Remove the batteries from the back of the thermostat.
  3. Put in the new batteries. They are usually AA batteries.
  4. Put the thermostat back on the base plate on the wall.
