How to fix problems with the ILIFE robot vacuum cleaner? What should I look out for?

If you are experiencing issues with your ILIFE Robot Vacuum, then you need to check the troubleshooting guide below.

There are many models of ILIFE Robot Vacuums, including the A4s, A9, A10, A11, A80, V3s, V9e, and V80. This troubleshooting guide is generalized for many of them and the troubleshooting steps are the same or similar across the board to make it easy when you upgrade to newer models in the future.

Why is ILIFE Vacuum Beeping?

Most often, ILIFE robot vacuums will beep because of a problem with its wheels, brushes, or sensors. Or the ILIFE vacuum stops and beeps, it’s indicating an issue.

Most of the time, if you look for and remove hair and debris from its brushes, wheels, or sensors, you can fix the problem. If it was stuck, picking it up and moving it to a different location will resolve the issue.

Here’s how to troubleshoot the ILIFE based on the number of beeps.

  • 1 Beep – If an ILIFE robot vacuum beeps one time, it indicates an issue with the side wheel or side brush, or even both. There could be a blockage, so to solve the issue, check for and remove any debris or hair from the side brushes and side wheels. Thoroughly cleaning them will help ensure that they rotate well again.
  • 2 Beeps – If an ILIFE robot vacuum beeps two times, one of the sensors is failing. It’s either the bumper sensor or cliff sensor, or both. To fix the issues, make sure the bumper is able to freely rotate. Using a clean microfiber cloth, wipe down the cliff sensor.
  • 3 Beeps – If an ILIFE robot vacuum beeps three times, that’s telling you the vacuum is stuck where it is. To fix this, simply pick up the robot and move it to a new location. Then restart it again.
  • 4 Beeps – If an ILIFE robot vacuum beeps four times, there’s an issue with the main brush and it’s not rotating or something is causing it to have trouble rotating. To resolve this issue, you’ll need to remove the bristle brush from the vacuum and clean it. Be sure to clean the roller and both ends of the brush. Remove any hair and debris.

If an ILIFE robotic vacuum is beeping while it charges, it means that the robot’s power switch is not turned on. Make sure the ILIFE vacuum is in the ON status while charging, or it will continue beeping when charging.

When charging, make sure the ILIFE robot vacuum is kept in an “ON” status, otherwise it will make a constant beeping sound while charging.

Why is ILIFE Vacuum Not Working Properly?

There could be any number of reasons why an ILIFE robot vacuum is not working properly. Let’s take a look at its symptoms and how it’s moving or malfunctioning.

  1. Stops and Beeps – If the ILIFE robot vacuum stops and beeps, it probably means the roller and bristle brush has hair jammed in it. Fix the issue by cleaning and removing any hair and debris. Then reinstall them back into the vacuum.
  2. Noise Level Has Increased – If the ILIFE vacuum’s noise level has increased and it’s become louder, that means there’s something jamming the brush and roller. It’s most likely hair and debris. Remove and clean the brush and roller of any debris. Then reinstall them back into the vacuum.
  3. Vacuuming Time Has Shortened / Power Running Out Quickly – If the ILIFE vacuum isn’t vacuuming as long as it used, it could mean that the vacuum wasn’t fully charged or the battery is having issues. To try and resolve it, make sure you’re recharging the vacuum by at least 5 hours each time. If you’re not seeing any better performance times, you’ll need to replace the ILIFE battery.
  4. Side Brushes Not Rotating – If the ILIFE robot vacuum’s side brushes are not rotating, it could mean that there’s a blockage somewhere. Check the side brushes for any debris or hair. Also, if you see any damage to the brushes, replace them.
  5. Not Picking Up as Much Debris as Before – If the ILIFE robot vacuum isn’t picking up as much debris than they were before, it could be because the dustbin is full or the vacuum isn’t getting enough suction. To resolve the problem, take out and empty the dustbin. If this doesn’t resolve the issue, then remove and clean the filter. It’s best to replace the filter every 3 months for best performance.
  6. Side Wheels Not Working Properly – If the ILIFE robot’s side wheels aren’t turning, it is either hair in the side wheels or it might mean that the wheel motor is broken. Check the side wheels for hair and debris first. Clean them and see if that helps. If not, you can check the wheel motors for any signs of wear and tear. Replace the wheel motors if necessary.
  7. ILIFE Vacuum Moves Backwards and Spins – If the ILIFE robot moves backwards and spins around, it could mean that one of the wheels is damaged or the bumper is not rotating. To solve the problem, inspect all of the wheels to ensure none of them are damaged. If they are fine, then remove the bumper and clean it of any hair and debris. Then reinstall the bumper and make sure it’s able to move smoothly.
  8. Continuously Runs in Circles – If the ILife robot continuously runs in circles, it could mean that its side wheels are stuck due to a jam. To resolve, make sure the side wheels are clear of any obstructions like hair and debris.

If the above isn’t solving the issues, you can always try to reset the ILIFE robot vacuum.

A flashing blue light on the ILIFE robot vacuum means that the battery power is low. If you have a model that doesn’t have blue lights, it will flash orange.

If the robot vacuum has a solid blue light, it means that the battery is fully charged.

If there’s a red light, it means that the ILIFE vacuum has an issue and you’ll need to do some troubleshooting to figure out what the issue is.

If there’s a green light, it means the robot vacuum has no issues and is working properly.

ILIFE Vacuum Not Charging

There could be a number of reasons why the ILIFE robot vacuum is not charging. The most common reasons are:

  • Wall Outlet is Not Working – Make sure your wall outlet has power going to it by plugging in your cell phone charger or other electronic. If there’s power going to it, continue on with the other troubleshooting steps.
  • Vacuum’s Charging Contacts are Dirty – You may have dirt on the charging contacts which could prevent the robot from charging. Remove the robot vacuum from the charging station and use a soft cloth to wipe off the contacts. Reinstall the robot vacuum back onto the charging station.
  • Battery is Not Inserted Correctly – Ensure that the battery is inserted correctly into the robot vacuum. Take the battery out and reinstall it.
  • Battery Has a Problem – The vacuum will beep to let you know there’s a problem with the battery.
  • ILIFE Robot Vacuum is Overheating – The robot will not charge when it’s overheating. There’s also be beeping to let you know there’s a problem. Let the robot cool down for an hours or so and see if that helps.
