iRobot Roomba robot vacuum cleaners are meant to clean your homes on a regular basis, even on the daily. They are meant to always be on and not turn off.
But what if you are going on vacation or moving to a new home, and want to turn it off?
iRobot doesn’t make it easy to turn off the Roomba. Maybe it’s a good thing, so it won’t stop cleaning in the middle of a cleaning cycle. But there are times you will need to turn it off. I’ve gone through all the Roomba vacuums and found out how to turn them all off.
The steps to turn off all Roomba models.
Lithium-Ion Battery in Roomba
Quick note on the lithium-ion batteries that are inside each Roomba model.
Lithium-ion batteries must be transported under special conditions and precautions. If you are traveling on an airplane, you cannot check bags containing lithium-ion batteries and products.
Lithium-ion batteries need to be in your carry-on. Of course, carrying your Roomba onto the plane in a carry-on bag will not be convenient, so it’s best to take the batteries out and storing the batteries in your carry-on bag.
If you are shipping anything with lithium-ion batteries, you will need to use ground shipping. There are occasions where you can ship lithium-ion batteries through air, but you should check the ever-changing shipping regulations.
